World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. They also increase bonuses, such as crit chance and PvE damage.

If the template for upgrading a weapon is in %, the weapon will gain an additional 3% of the previous attack damage every time it's upgraded.

Item upgrading costs crests and the item's current level. The cost rises with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into weapons, armor and trinkets to give them a boost in stats or to add an additional effect. These can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors, trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades also come with specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be applied to devices that have slots. The item must be upgraded to blue before the component can be used. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once and cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a particular kind of upgrade component that is used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the items that are not ascending back. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it is used on (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia',' changes to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players to make stronger versions of the equipment using fewer Upgrade Crystals than is required to achieve the same level of upgrade through normal methods.

A boost upgrade can modify the attack or defense characteristics of a weapon or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them from the cash shop, or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other gear.

Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of an item upgrader kit will be revealed at the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to keep improving their equipment, even if they're unsure of how much they'll improve following a subsequent reset.

Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be costly and there is a high chance that the item could be obsolete or even break if it fails. A failed upgrade will ruin Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to reduce or eliminate the risk of failure. After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you'll require them to be put on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that will boost a particular set of stat nodes within a radius around the Glyph.
