Upgrades can increase the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also increase bonuses, such as crit chance and PvE damage.

For example, a weapon with the upgrade template that is ending in % will take on 3% attack damage every time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the level of the item increases.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, weapons and armor in order to give them a stat boost or to add an additional effect. These can be obtained by making crafts, buying from vendors, trading with other players, or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components are only available to devices that have slots. The item must be upgraded to a blue level before the component can be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied only once. They cannot be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and Enrichments are type of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascending equipment, as in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade may have a prefix or suffix, modifying the name of the item to which it is applied (for instancethe 'Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of that equipment that require fewer Upgrade Crystals than would be required to reach the same upgrade level through normal methods.

A 'boost upgrade' can modify the attack or defense properties of a weapon, or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. They can also be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or buying them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals per.

The player can have up to five boost upgrades at a time. Each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-level version of the item will drop at the time of the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep improving their equipment even if they're not sure of how much they'll improve following a subsequent reset.

Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be expensive, and there is a high possibility that the item will become obsolete or even break if it fails. A unsuccessful upgrade could cause the destruction of Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items to double or even eliminate the chances of failure, and some upgrades that provide the benefit of being reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade parts which can be put in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs increase the power of all nodes in the area around them as well as existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in various ways, and we suggest getting them up to level 15 as soon as possible.

In the endgame you'll often discover that the best way to enhance your gear is to place Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded straight to level 15, and they provide a large boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to climb higher nodes faster.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without restriction. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.

There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools, and through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt has a chance to drop one of the many Glyphs as well as also a few rare Glyphs that can be obtained as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

When you have the desired Glyphs, you will have to attach them to your equipment. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that can boost a particular set of stat nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats, based on the Glyph.

Glyphs will boost all nodes that are connected to them, so it is best to put Glyphs in key places on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids, for example should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might also want to consider placing them near their most critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The system of upgrading items allows players to increase the stats of certain items by placing upgraded components in them. This is commonly known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has an amount that determines its upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum level of 385. Each level requires a different amount of components to be reached and the cost of upgrading increase as the item is leveled up.

Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab of the crafting table. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields some Technology Points. These points can be used to upgrade the item, and once enough points have been earned, the upgrade can be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When the player improves the equipment they have, the base item is replaced by a new item. This means that the same armor piece will get a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will have its own set bonus. This could be a disadvantage, as the item can increase in price even if you don't need it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, if the player has enough reroll tokens in order to do this. The item will be replaced by the same item, but it has a base of level 1 and completely different bonuses. This can be useful but it shouldn't be done often as it can waste resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled multiple times to increase their value, giving players the ability to alter their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides an increase in power if the player repeatedly enters or leaves the water. This item can be upgraded several times, increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. Requirements

The ability to upgrade items (http://Www.Daoban.org) allows players to increase the quality of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets above ilvl 385--by offering the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces increase its base defense and weapon upgrades items increase the damage they deal and also increase their strength and dexterity.

All items can be upgraded a maximum of five times, with the exception of hero gear, which can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Each each time you upgrade an item, it is given a chance to fail--the failure rate increases the more you exceed the maximum number of upgrades. Failures can cause the item to return to its initial state, which requires the player to pay for more materials than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item fails to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition the item will lose any bonuses it gained such as crit chance, attack damage, and all additional effects associated with the effect (for example, increased heal over time or the speed of reloading). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it gains a crit chance increase that it will be applied before any damage from attacks increases. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the item definition and the value is calculated every time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating as well as the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a standard equipment item may have five upgrades at a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero quality items will have the lowest cost for each upgrade.

Premium items have different upgrade requirements as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they may require fewer sowels, but they will require more minerals and erons. The player will need to carry every piece of equipment they want to upgrade to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each upgrade to equipment requires different amounts of the ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the costs mentioned above.
