9 Things Your Parents Teach You About Item Upgrader
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
The upgrade of an item can be used to increase the stats of a particular item. Based on the type of upgrade, it may increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity, as well as boost other stats.
Each item has a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a specific amount.
Item Level
When an item is upgraded, its stats increase in value. This is the sum of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive, depending on the person you hire and what you decide to do. This is due to the variety of perks that have to be modified to upgrade an item.
Item level is a commonly used measure of power, and can be found on all tooltips of items. It also serves as a gating requirement when waiting to queue for dungeons and scenarios and raids, and to limit the amount of PvP gear a player can wear (since PvP is capped at an lower level). Players can see their average level of items on their character sheet.
The level of an item upgrading can help players compare the potency of gear when choosing to buy or sell. It's a sign of the damage and its quality. Comparing items from the inventory of a seller can be done using the item level.
The level of the item can be checked by pressing the ALT key on your PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. The item will be displayed with its full description, including ilvl. It can also be located by hovering over an item with the mouse cursor, and then typing /itemlevel in chat.
There are a variety of theories on how the item level is determined. One theory is that the item level is a numerical value derived from a formula which calculates the value of an item's stats are worth. It takes into consideration the fact that various perks have different value and gems in sockets add to the item's overall value. This process can result in a calculated value for the item's ilvl which is usually close to Blizzard's actual item level.
This isn't the only factor that influences the level of an item. The level of the area where the item was dropped can change its stats. For instance, it could add a level to the item's haste, or crit rating. Items that drop in higher-level instances will have higher ilvl.
Item Stats
The stats of an item are a major component of what determines the value of an item for players. The game makes use of them in various ways to encourage players not to limit themselves to a single weapon, and to encourage them to try out other weapons. The base stats on a weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat modification, which are themselves enhanced by the player's level.
The upgrades to items add by increasing certain stats of the item. The rarity of an item determines the upgrade cost. For example, a grey or white item can only be upgraded once, while items with rare tiers will be upgraded several times, at higher costs.
Affixes can also be used to change an item's stats. They are stat boosts that can be added by the player to an item. The affixes are used to give items additional damage or other special capabilities (such as reviving dead or reducing cooling downs), or to make them unique by adding a name.
All affixes are currently re-rolled by selecting them in the upgrade menu pressing the green button. It will cost a set amount in gold and other items. They can also be used as upgrade item gauges, just like the other rerolling methods.
In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can also choose which stats to keep on an item after it is upgraded. The possible ranges of stats for an item are determined by the item level, but all items are guaranteed to have at least one stat within the specified range, unless it is an exclusive item or a God roll from a boss in a raid.
Another thing that could be changed is the option to upgrade equipment without having to reroll the attaches, or select which stats to boost. Similar to the base equipment, this would have to be done per item and the item comparison interface wouldn't display all possible stats at once.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player can increase the chance of finding items as well as the properties created by loot and the strength of these properties. It does not, however, directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players the chance to upgrade gear earlier in the game. This is especially advantageous in early game runs because players tend to put the scaling of weapons and defenses over raw damage gains.
In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the chances of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade probability which increases with each item level and can be further increased by using an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.
Weapons, armor, and shields can be made or spawn using the Luck property, with the default value of 40. These items can be upgraded with golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to grant an additional +40 Luck or to increase the luck of the item up to 140.
Certain items, such as the weapon with Hollow-infused components can also be outfitted to increase the damage dealt by any ability that is able to deal damage by five percent. These items are available in the shop or created with the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Not all upgrades work. Cash shop items can be used to increase the chance of success of an upgrade or to stop players from losing their item if it is not successful.
The rate of success of an upgrade is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage indicates the probability of successfully upgrading the item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special materials. The chance of success can only be increased by so much, and the likelihood that an upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%..
The luck of an item upgrade may affect the success of an upgrade. Every item has an average success rate of 25% and every item that has Luck increases the chance of success by five percent.
The item upgrade overlays are rendered above the items in the inventory. This can cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the item upgrader (read this blog post from Dermandar) CORE client config.
