A Provocative Rant About Upgrade Item
Pokemon GO Upgrade Items and Components
A special item upgrading can be used to transform certain Pokemon. The upgrade is made by spinning a PokeStop photo disc. It's often given as a prize during Pokemon GO events.
The Upgrade can also be found in armor, weapons trinkets, and gathering tools to increase their item level. The upgrade costs Flightstones or crests based on the type of item.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be inserted into trinkets, armors, weapons and other tools for gathering in order to provide attribute bonuses or other effects when the equipment is being used. The equipment being upgraded must be equipped with an upgrade slot to accommodate the component, and most upgrade components require the item being upgraded to be above a certain level. Some upgrade items also have special visual effects when they are added to an equipment piece. Upgrade components can be acquired by crafting, purchased from karma sellers or traded with other players on the Trading Post, salvaged from equipment, or obtained as rewards during games.
There are different upgrade components, each with various bonuses. Universal upgrades like gems and inscriptions can be applied to any type of equipment. They provide fewer bonuses than the other types of upgrade component. Infusions are used in non-amulet equipment that is ascended and legendary equipment, and enrichments are utilized for certain items that have been ascended. The majority of upgrade components can be replaced if they are inserted into an item upgrader kit, however doing so will destroy the previous upgrade. There are exceptions for glyphs (which can only be inserted into gathering tools) and enchantments, which can be removed and reinserted freely.
Insignias or enchantments, as well as upgrades with prefixes or suffixes will be displayed in the hover display of the item, while they are added to the equipment's name (e.g. an Radiant Insignia could change the name to Radiant Tyrian Armor). The tooltip of an item upgrader kit will display the number of upgrade components that have been added to it.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to add functional and decorative elements to an OpenType font. These include ligatures and fractions, as well as ornaments, as well registered trademark symbols, ellipses, swashes and swashes. The Glyphs Panel allows you to add and view these unique characters, along with common symbols like em and en dashes, as well being registered trademark symbols.
Each Glyph provides an initial boost in stats for the character. The glyph may also include up to four secondary stats which will alter the radius of your Paragon Board. Secondary Stats are a percentage increase that is multiplied by other bonuses, except for Speed Glyphs that directly increase the hero’s speed.
The Glyphs in your inventory can be activated by selecting them and then clicking the "enchant" button. This will display a new window with the Glyphs you own that can be applied to the selected item. Be aware that only the correct type of Glyph can be applied to the selected item in that every weapon, jewelry or armor piece has distinct sets of Glyphs.
You can increase the level of Glyphs by working through Tree of Whisper Quests or Nightmare Dungeons. The more challenging the dungeon, the greater the amount of Glyph experience you'll get. Once a Glyph has reached level 15 it is able to be upgraded via the Glyph Upgrade Altar. The radius of the Paragon Board grows by one node each 15 levels that a Glyph is upgraded.
Once a Glyph is leveled up to the desired level, you can activate it by selecting it and then clicking the "enchant" button. The resulting glyph will provide its stated benefit and also boost the other nodes within its radius on the Paragon Board. It's important to place Glyphs where they can best benefit your build, and that is why it's a good idea to prioritize Magic Glyphs early on. The glyphs that are rare may offer dual bonuses in the event that certain conditions are met, so they're worth looking out for.
If you're having difficulty finding a particular glyph click the cycle widget on the Glyphs panel to display the panel in a variety of perspectives. Each of these views shows the Glyphs in different fonts. You can narrow down the selection of glyphs by selecting an option below "Entire Font". For instance, punctuation only shows punctuation glyphs. Math Symbols limit the options to mathematical symbols.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process by which you create a new account to give yourself more opportunities to play a character or weapon that you are interested in. It can help you level up faster or to obtain better loot, like an improved weapon for your current character. Many players will repeat the roll until the character they want is available, regardless of its power. This could be because they like the character's style or character.
When you reroll, you have be sure that the changes you are making are safe. This means you should verify locally that the patch passes the pre-commit tests, and you should also conduct a core development check. The patch should be uploaded with a clear distinction to an issue (see What is an interdiff?) ).
Rerolls can take days or even weeks to complete, based on the luck of the draw. During this period, you should avoid optional enemy camps to avoid wasting time. It is also recommended to avoid repeating quests which can be completed later in the game. This will save you time and energy.
When rerolling, it is essential to be aware the upgrade system. There are numerous ways to enhance your character's appearance and strength. Upgrades, rerolling characters or upgrading weapons are all options. It is also important to be aware of the limitations of the system.
Rerolling might not be an absolute requirement but it's a way to increase the chances of acquiring the right character or weapon. You can use it to determine which character is the best or to test different playstyles and builds.
Sets
A set is a collection of objects with common-2 attributes (like the number of eggs in a dozen or the members of a class). Sets allow for operations like union, intersection and distinction.
Upgrades make a set item better than before. This means that weapons and armor will have a greater defense value and lower strength requirements.
Upgrades can bring well-known items from single sets up to parity with those in higher-tier sets. For example upgrading Guillaume's Face Helm to Elite Spired Helm increases the defense from 217 to 321 and reduces the strength requirement and level requirement to a lower range.
It's important to remember that not all items in a set can be upgraded. Some sets, such as the FB Sorc spec's Whistan's Shield or Naj's Puzzler staff are already Exceptional and Elite in their own right and don't require upgrading. On the other hand, some items that are BiS and are used frequently (like Goldwrap) may benefit from being upgraded to increase their performance even more. It may be worth it to upgrade these items.
