Pokemon GO Upgrade Items and Components

A special item upgrading can be used to transform certain Pokemon. The upgrade is made by spinning a PokeStop photo disc. It's often given as a prize during Pokemon GO events.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be acquired by crafting, purchased from karma sellers or traded with other players on the Trading Post, salvaged from equipment, or obtained as rewards during games.

There are different upgrade components, each with various bonuses. Universal upgrades like gems and inscriptions can be applied to any type of equipment. They provide fewer bonuses than the other types of upgrade component. Infusions are used in non-amulet equipment that is ascended and legendary equipment, and enrichments are utilized for certain items that have been ascended. The majority of upgrade components can be replaced if they are inserted into an item upgrader kit, however doing so will destroy the previous upgrade. There are exceptions for glyphs (which can only be inserted into gathering tools) and enchantments, which can be removed and reinserted freely.

Insignias or enchantments, as well as upgrades with prefixes or suffixes will be displayed in the hover display of the item, while they are added to the equipment's name (e.g. an Radiant Insignia could change the name to Radiant Tyrian Armor). Glyphs

On the other hand, some items that are BiS and are used frequently (like Goldwrap) may benefit from being upgraded to increase their performance even more. It may be worth it to upgrade these items.
