World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to an item are a way to boost the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade it could raise an item's Mark level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.

The process of upgrading gear in The War Within requires a specified number of Flightstones and Crests, and each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next item by a certain amount.

Item Level

When an item is upgraded, its stats increase in value. This is the sum of all the leveled up perks (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive, depending on who you hire and what you decide to do. This is due to how many perks have to be replaced in order for the item to be upgraded.

The level of an item is a popular measure of power, and can be seen on all item tooltips. It is also used to limit how much PvP gear players can wear as PvP is restricted at a lower level. Players can see their average level of item on their character sheet.

Utilizing the level of an item can help players evaluate the potency of gear when deciding to purchase or sell. It's an indicator of the damage and quality. The level of the item can be used to compare items when examining the inventory of a vendor.

The item level can be seen by pressing the ALT key on PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will show the full item description, including its value. It can also be found by hovering over an item using the mouse cursor and typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are various theories on how the calculation of the item's level is made. One theory is that the level is a numerical value derived from a formula that calculates the value of an item level upgrade's stats are worth. It considers the fact that different perks have different worth and gems in sockets add to the value of the item overall. This can lead to an item's ilvl calculated, which is often very close to Blizzard's real level of the item.

This isn't the only factor that influences the level of an item. The level of the area where the item upgrader was dropped may change its stats. For instance it can increase the item's haste or crit rating. Items that drop in higher-level instances will have higher ilvl.

Best item upgrader Stats

Item stats are a big component of what makes or breaks an item for players. The game makes use of them in many ways to encourage players not to limit themselves to one weapon and to encourage players to experiment with other weapons. The base stats on a weapon are increased by the weapon's stat modification that are in turn enhanced by the player's level.

Upgrades to an item can boost its stats. The rarity of an item determines the cost of upgrading. For instance, a gray or white item can only be upgraded once, whereas an item with the rare levels will be upgraded multiple times at higher prices.

Another method to alter the stats on an item is to use affixes. They are stat boosts which can be added by the player to an item. The affixes can provide the item additional damage, or give a specific capability to the item (such as reviving dead or decreasing the duration of cooldowns) or make the item unique by adding an exclusive name to the item.

All affixes are currently re-rolled by selecting them in the upgrade window, pressing the green button. This process will cost the player a certain amount of gold and items, which can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as the other options for rerolling.

In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can select which of the available stats to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The range of stats is determined by the item's level. However, all items will contain at least one stat in the same range, unless it's an item that is unique or a God Roll from a raid boss.

This is another thing that can be modified by adding the option to upgrade the equipment without rerolling the affixes or deciding which stats to enhance. But, like base equipment, this would have to be carried out on a per-item level, and the interface for comparing items would not display all the possible stats gained or lost at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player increases the probability of obtaining items, the properties that are generated by loot, and the intensity of these properties. However, it does not directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It merely gives the player a chance to upgrade their gear in earlier waves, and is therefore more beneficial in early game runs than later ones as most players prioritize greater weapon scaling and defense over raw damage gains.

Luck can also increase the likelihood of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to confuse with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading, which increase with each item level. They can also be increased with the use of anti-materials, such as a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

The shields, armor, and weapons have the default Luck value of 40. These items can be improved with golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the type of material) to add another 40 luck or to boost an Best item upgrader's existing Luck up to 140.

Additionally some items, such as the Hollow weapon that is infused with hollow can be outfitted to increase the damage dealt by any damage-dealing skill by 5%. These items can be purchased from the shop or constructed using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items are costly and not every upgrade will be successful. Cash shop items can be used to boost the success rate of an upgrade, or to protect players from losing their items if it does not work.

When you upgrade an item the success rate is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage is the probability of successfully upgrading an item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special materials. The probability of success can only be increased so high, and the probability that the upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%.

The success of an item upgrade is also affected by the luck of that item. Every item has an initial success rate of 25%, and every item that has Luck increases that chance by an additional 5percent.

Note that item upgrades are rendered above the items in the inventory which means that enchantment glints and other effects could be masked by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
