World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

Upgrades to items allow players to increase the gear score of an item to 700 and also add a final perk. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory before heading to the kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading because of their unique stats. (For instance, a perfectly roll breakpoint armor is used in melee PvP). Other items, like weapons aren't changed much after an upgrade and aren't worth the effort.

Weapons

Weapons can be upgraded to improve their numeric stats, such as the chance to crit, attack damage, PvE and damage from PvP. Weapons come with a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. Many weapons also come with a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are equipped in a unit. In certain instances, this bonus can add up to more than the amount of damage a weapon is able to upgrade on its own.

The cost of upgrading a weapon varies on its rarity and current level. For instance, a +2 weapon requires two regular Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a gun will increase until it needs an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point it will reset to one.

Upgrades to weapons will also alter the stats of the base. This is usually a positive thing, but it can also have negative effects. For items that are only used in a specific build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs, for instance), upgrading them may make them unusable unless you happen to have an extremely fortunate roll.

Armor items can be upgraded to increase their stats. This will increase the defense of a chest or helm while belts and gloves can boost their strength and agility. Armor has a rerolling feature for its Enhanced Defense%. This means that it is able to roll down to a lower value.

The upgrade template for a weapon shows the new stats it will gain upon upgrading and their relative values. This means that the weapon will gain 3% attack damage if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% difference does not mean that the weapon will be hit 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.

Rerolling a weapon is possible by pressing the green button within the item menu, using the circling arrows. This will roll the item level upgrade and change its stats, however, it will not reset the weapon's level nor connect to the status of your account.

Armor

A few tweaks to your armor can make an enormous difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets provide massive boosts to poison or curse, fire, and magic resistance, which can make the journey through difficult terrain a breeze. In general, the greater defense your character has, the more value you will get from every point of health you possess and it's crucial to upgrade your armor as much as you can.

To upgrade your armor, head to any of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four in total each of which requires you to complete a specific side quest that involves the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed your main quest, and the corresponding fountains, you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.

The amount of material needed to upgrade each piece of armor will vary. You'll need anywhere between three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the initial armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. For instance, the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep up with a decent-sized group of enemies in the majority of cold climates and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded all the way to +20 defense, providing you enough protection to survive the full-on assault with a handful of friends.

You can't upgrade your armor the same as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior, you should focus on upgrading your armor to increase physical strength or the power of spells. You should also save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you will still be wearing at the end of the story, such as the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you'll wear in the final boss fight The Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can unlock some perks on your armor. Generally speaking, you'll want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to win the game, such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer however, it could be beneficial to have a few upgrades of the helmets and chest armor that allow you to stealth around some monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that when consumed by the player, provide a temporary effect for a short period of time. There are five kinds of potions, each with specific effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to increase their effectiveness. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by including glowstone dust and redstone.

Potion upgrades cost a specific amount of XP. This can be earned by crafting them using a craft table or in an chest of the Alchemist. The price of upgrades changes depending on what type of potion you want to upgrade, as well as on the item Upgrader kit's Mark Level and Rarity.

To upgrade a potions, right-click it in your inventory. Select "Upgrade" from the menu. This opens an GUI in which you can select the potions you wish to upgrade and the amount of XP they'll give you when upgraded. Upgrades to potions can be made in batches of up to five at a time, and the XP they provide will be added to your current XP total.

Once a potion is upgraded, it won't degrade until you re-use it, or break the bottle it is stored in. You can also change the name of the potion by clicking it in your inventory.

Version 1.7.2 introduced a few modifications to the way potions are used. For example the splash potions now have the duration of 0:08 (this is not the same as the 22.5 seconds displayed on the Best item upgrade hover display). The potion table can now be made using four Wood Planks and two Glass. This allows it to be utilized by players playing Survival and Bedrock. In contrast to the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions can't be used in cauldrons. Also, putting a potion on a full cauldron drains the liquid and replenishes the bottle.

Lastly, there are now lingering potions that are made using dragon breath and splash potions. In the same way, a lingering potion can be enhanced by adding redstone to it. The potion table has been rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added, for instance, the potion of leaping and decomposition.

Trinkets

A trinket can be an ornamental item upgrader kit that is small, cheap or piece of jewelry. It could also refer to an object or ornament that serves a purpose but isn't particularly significant such as a thimble. In certain cultures, trinkets are used to signify affection or friendship, particularly between family members.

In addition to weapons, armor and potions, players can upgrade their trinkets. Upgrades can be obtained by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. As with other upgrades to items trinkets are able to be traded out at any time without losing their stats.

Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of every zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased using tokens, gold or fragments of rare trinkets.

The upgrade of a trinket can be an economical alternative to buying new ones. It can be done by players for less than 12 tokens. The new trinket will come with the same base ilvl as old one, and will come with an additional 1% upgrade bonus.

When the old Trinkets are no longer usable they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase both their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players and are a popular alternative to gold.

In general players should make upgrades to their highest priority items first. This means that the top-in slot items for each class are upgraded first before their secondary gear, and then other pieces of equipment that won't replace anytime soon (such as an earring or a cloak). It is also important to consider your class's preferred stats when selecting which items to upgrade. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for a tank player then they should consider upgrading their helm, chest and shoulders.

Trinkets can be upgraded to a higher ilvl after they no longer have value and the new trinket will receive an additional upgrade bonus of 1. Re-upgrading will destroy the trinket unless it can be salvaged with the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, however it is still cheaper than buying an entirely new trinket.
