Berkshire Hathaway Inc. is an American multinational conglomerate holding company headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska. The company wholly owns numerous subsidiaries and holds large stakes in many major corporations.

Overview

Originally a textile manufacturing company, Berkshire Hathaway was transformed by Warren Buffett into one of the world's most successful investment vehicles. The company owns businesses in insurance (GEICO, Gen Re), railroads (BNSF), utilities, manufacturing, and retail.
