9 Things Your Parents Teach You About Item Upgrader
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades can be used to boost the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade it could raise an item's Mark level or Rarity and boost additional stats.
The process of upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a specified number of Flightstones and Crests, and each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next item by a certain amount.
Item Level
When an item is upgraded, its base stats are increased in value. This value is the sum of the perks that are leveled up (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrading items can be expensive depending on the upgrader you choose and what kind of upgrade you decide to make. This is because of how many perks have to be replaced in order for the item to get upgraded.
It is also used as a gating requirement while queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It can also be used to limit how much PvP gear players are able to wear since PvP is not available at a lower level. Players can view their average level of items on their character sheet.
Utilizing the level of an item will allow players to compare the strength of equipment when deciding to purchase or sell. It's a sign of the damage and its quality. The level of an item can be used to evaluate items when examining a vendor's inventory.
The item level can be seen by pressing the ALT key on a PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will show the item's full description, including the ilvl. It can also be located by hovering over an item using the mouse cursor, and then entering /itemlevel into chat.
There are several theories about how the level of an item is calculated. One theory is that the item level is a number that comes from a formula which calculates the amount an item's stats are worth. It considers the fact that different perks have different values and that gems in sockets add to the value of the item upgrader kit overall. This process could result in a calculated amount for the item's level, which is typically close to Blizzard's actual level of the item.
This is not the only factor that influences the level of an item. The degree of the area in which the item upgrader mod dropped can also alter its stats. For example it can add a level to the item's haste or crit rating. Items that drop in higher-level instances will have higher ilvl.
Item Stats
The item's stats can determine the fate of an item for players. The game uses a variety of them in various ways to encourage players to play with multiple weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the most effective." The stat mods of weapons boost base stats. These stat mods are then increased by a player's skill.
Item upgrades add to that by boosting certain stats on the item. The rarity of an item determines the cost of upgrading. A grey or white item for instance, will only be upgraded once, while an item that has rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times with higher costs.
Another method to alter the stats on an item is to use affixes. They are stat boosts which can be added by the player to an item. The affixes could be used to give the item extra damage, or add a unique ability to the item (such as reviving dead or reducing the duration of cooldowns), or make the item unique by adding an additional name to the item.
At present, all affixes can be changed by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button, which is accompanied by the arrows that circle. This process will cost the player a certain amount of gold as well as items, which can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as other rerolling options.
Players can upgrade an item by specific stats or reroll affixes. The possible stat ranges for an item are based on the item level, but all items are guaranteed to have at least one stat within the range, unless it is an item that is unique or an item that is a God roll from a raid boss.
Another thing that could change is the possibility of upgrading equipment without having to roll the attaches, or select which stats to increase. However, as with the base equipment, this would need to be performed on a per-item level, and the interface for item comparison would not display all the possible stats gained or lost at once.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player stacks up to increase the likelihood of finding items and the properties that are spawned from loot drops, and the intensity of these properties. However, it doesn't directly affect damage or ability to upgrade items. It gives players the chance to acquire better gear in earlier waves, and is therefore more beneficial in early game runs as opposed to later ones, as most players prioritize greater weapon scaling and defense over raw damage gains.
Luck can also boost the likelihood of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chance that increases with each level and can be further enhanced by using an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.
The shields, armor and weapons have an initial Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to give +40 Luck or to boost the luck of an item, up to 140.
Moreover there are certain items, such as the Hollow infused weapon, can be equipped to increase the damage of any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items can be purchased in the shops or made with the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Not all upgrades are successful. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to boost their success rate or prevent them from losing an item if the upgrade fails.
The rate of success of an upgrade is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage indicates the probability of successful upgrading an item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special Materials. The percentage of success can only be increased as much, and the likelihood that an upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%..
The success of an item can be affected by the luck of that item. Each item has an average success rate of 25 percent, and every item with Luck increases this chance by five percent.
The item upgrade overlays are rendered above the items in the inventory. This may cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
