One of them is that the Q5's navigation system doesn't feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology which means it's susceptible to getting hung up on shoes and socks and can't navigate tightly packed rooms very efficiently in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera that can see around corners.

It's still a good value, especially if your home or office has a lot of unfinished floors and you want to save money. It's also extremely quiet and works while you're at work or school. The only thing it doesn't have that you won't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective in mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. It's one of our most appealing looking robot vacuums.
