World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses such as damage from PvE and crit chance.

For example an item with the upgrade template ending in % will take on 3damage to attack each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with the item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into weapons, armor and trinkets to provide them with a boost in stats or add a bonus effect. They can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components are only available to equipment with a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to a blue level before a component can be used. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied once. They are not able to be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and Enrichments are type of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascending equipment, as other items that are not ascended. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item it is applied to (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia',' changes to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players create stronger versions of the equipment using less Upgrade Crystals than are required to reach the same level of upgrade through normal methods.

A boost upgrade is a way to modify the attack or defense attributes of a weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them from the cash shop or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other gear.

Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher tier version of an item will be revealed during the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their equipment even when they're not sure how much it will be improved following the reset.

The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process may be costly, and there is a high possibility that the item upgrader will become obsolete or even break when it fails. A failure to upgrade can cause the destruction of Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the possibility of failure. Certain upgrades also provide the player a bonus if they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade elements that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, and include any pre-existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as possible up to 15 levels.

You'll often see in the endgame that placing Glyphs is the best way to upgrade your gear. These are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded to level 15 and give a significant boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt with a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

Each Glyph has a specific range of values that it can improve a statistic by, and the value is displayed when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of an Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt has the chance of dropping one of the various Glyphs and there are also a few rare Glyphs that can be found as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you will require them to be put on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a special bonus that will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes that are within the radius of the Glyph. Based on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs will boost all nodes that are connected to them, so it is best to put Glyphs in strategic locations on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids for instance should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might be able to place them near their most critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The item upgrade system allows players to increase the power of certain items by introducing upgraded components. This is referred to as "upping". Every upgradeable item is assigned an amount that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items may be leveled up to a maximum of 385. Each level of an item requires a different amount of components to be reached and the cost of upgrading increase as the item gets upgraded.

Certain upgrades require a specific ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab of a crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used to upgrade the item. Once enough are earned, the upgrade can be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When an item is upgraded by a player to a higher level, the original item upgrader is replaced with a different item of the same type. This means that the same armor piece will get a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will have a unique bonus. This could be a disadvantage, as the item can increase in price even if you do not need it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, if the player has enough reroll tokens in order to do so. The item will be replaced with the same item, but it has a level 1 basis and completely different bonuses. This can be useful but it shouldn't be done often as it can waste resources.

Some upgrades can increase their value and allow players to modify their gear. One example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or is able to swim like a dolphin). The item can be upgraded multiple times by increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item is highly valuable in PvP. A well-rolled version could be worth up to 50x the value of a non-upgraded counterpart.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to boost the level of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by providing the appropriate items and currencies to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase its base defense, while upgrades to weapon items boost their base damage as well as their strength and dexterity.

Each item can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero equipment, which is able to be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it has a chance of failing. The rate of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures can result in the item reverting to its original state which means that the player has to spend additional items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.

If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar in the bar for growth will be reset to zero. In addition the item will be deducted any gained bonuses such as crit chance and attack damage, as well as all other effects that are associated with that effect (for example, increased heal over time or speed of reload). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest. This means that when a weapon gains an increase in its crit chance it will be applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute called Slots has been added to the item definition and the value is computed every time an upgrade is made.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are based on its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to its base value. For example an item that is commonplace could have five upgrades at a cost. 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will come with the lowest cost for each additional upgrade.

Premium items may have different upgrade requirements than standard gear. For example they might require less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. The player will need to bring every piece of gear they wish to upgrade to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade costs listed above, each equipment upgrade requires the use of different upgrade ingredients.
