Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet messes (spills, stains) in one go without the need to change devices. They also can save space compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot must be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacle avoidance. Look for models that have docks that let them automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks and wash the mopping pads.

It's one of the simplest robots to install that we've tested. Unpacking is easy and Best robot cleaner, git.zkyspace.Top, the quick-start guide will have you running in no time. It comes with a full dust bag, water tank and a hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that is able to clean up a storm and also vacuums well. The mops spin at fast speeds and exert 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of pet hair, dirt, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a variety of brushes and attachments and a user-friendly application that lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.

You can, for example, ask the robot vacuum Cleaners best to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It is able to recognize small obstacles that other models are unable to. The only problem is that the robot tends to crash into objects and walls at full speed. However an inspection of the history of cleaning on the app will tell you precisely what the robot has completed, where it's going, and which obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.

The docking station comes with an LCD display that shows when maintenance is needed for cleaning up debris and cleaning the dirty water tank. It also mixes detergent into the water tank in a controlled manner, using a 600ml eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro automatic vacuum cleaner and mop have plenty of run-time and the mop is capable of operating for an 184-minute runtime in Quiet mode and the vacuum capable of running for 136 minutes in normal mode before having to recharge or return to the base to refill. The app is easy to use and intuitive, allowing you to view every aspect of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot automatic vacuum cleaner and mop, is the most recent version. It's not like the model from last year it comes with a double agitator in its mopping pad which significantly improves its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity which allows it to pull up smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaner and mop cleaners could miss.

As with the two other Roborock models I've tested it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to helps it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and includes a dual-camera that can identify objects, determining whether they're walls or other surfaces. It will then automatically alter its path and clean them without missing a beat.

It's the most expensive model I've tried, but it also has the most features. Its sleek, angular design is striking and only has three physical buttons: the power button, which also resumes cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock and a home button that can return the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml of water tank. The water tank automatically empties and the bin auto-refills.

The only drawback I could find to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. You can replace the mopping cloth if required, but it's a challenge to take the mount off for washing manually. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, which can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can manage and set up these through the Roborock app which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor the battery life and maintain your components. You'll have to go through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
