World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like crit chance and PvE Damage.

For instance a weapon that has the upgrade template ending in % will take on 3damage to attack each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the item's current level. The cost rises with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be put into weapons, armor, and trinkets to provide a stat bonus or extra impact while they're being used. They can be obtained through making crafts, buying from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components are only available to devices that have slots. The item must be upgraded to a blue level before the component can be used. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used once and cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are a type of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or Ascended equipment, as well as some non-ascended items. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item it's used on (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, allowing players make stronger versions of the equipment using fewer Upgrade Crystals than is required to reach the same level of upgrade through normal methods.

A boost upgrade can change the attack or defense attributes of the weapon or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be crafted at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades are available for purchase them from the cash shop or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other equipment.

Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a better-quality version of the item will be dropped at the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their equipment even if they are unsure what can be improved upon a reset.

Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process can be costly and there is a substantial possibility that the item will become obsolete or even break when it fails; a failure to upgrade can cause the destruction of Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items that can increase or even eliminate the possibility of failure, as well as a few upgrades that give a bonus when reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade parts which can be put in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs increase the power of all nodes in their radius as well as existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as possible up to 15 levels.

You will often find in the endgame that putting Glyphs is the most effective way to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade components which can be upgraded to level 15 and provide a significant boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced however Glyphs are the one upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without restriction. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed with a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

Each Glyph has a particular range of values it can improve a stat by. The value is displayed when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a different Glyph of the same rank or a higher rank, which will boost the value of the glyph.

There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use, and through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have the desired Glyphs then you have to put them on your equipment. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that can boost the stats of a specific set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph the bonus will be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

The use of the Glyph can boost all nodes that are connected to it, and you should aim to place your Glyphs close to key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. For instance that a Druid should aim to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes, however, you may also want to consider placing them near critical damage nodes as well.

Leveling

The system of upgrading items allows players to increase the stats of specific items by putting upgraded components into them. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level that determines the final stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum level of 385. Each level of an item requires different components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.

Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained from the completion of Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or obtained from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed earns several Technology Points. These points can be used to leveling up an item. When enough points have been earned you will be able to claim your upgrade and also receive the bonuses.

When the player upgrades an item to a higher level, the original item level upgrade is replaced with a different item of the same kind. This means that the same armor piece will become a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also has its own set of bonuses. This could be a disadvantage in that the item could become more expensive even if you don't need it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, if the player has enough tokens in order to do so. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a new one, which will have an initial level and a completely different set of extra bonuses. This is a good option for certain items, but it shouldn't be done regularly, as it can use up many resources.

Certain upgrades can boost their value, allowing players to customize their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives buffs when the player continuously enters or leaves the water. This item can be upgraded many times, increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item upgrader mod can be very valuable in PvP, as the best version of it could be worth between 20 and 50x its value without being upgraded.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to boost the level of their available equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate currency and items to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrading armor set pieces will also boost the defense base of the item, and upgrading weapon items will increase the damage base and the strength and dexterity required to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.

All items can be upgraded a maximum of five times, with the exception of hero gear, which can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it is at risk of failing. The probability of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures can result in the item upgrades reverting to its original state which means that the player has to pay for more resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.

If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar on the bar for growth will be reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it has gained, such as crit chance damage to attack, other effects (such as increased heal over time or reloading speed). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

If an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded gains a crit chance increase it will be applied before any damage from attacks increases. Slots is a new attribute that has been added to item definitions. The value is recalculated every time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to the value of the base item upgrades. For instance an item of common use could have five upgrades for a price of. 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero grade items will have the lowest cost for each upgrade.

Premium items have different upgrade requirements than standard gear--for instance, they might require fewer sowels, but they will require more minerals and erons. However, players will have to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each upgrade will require the use of different upgrade ingredients.
