However, they have several flaws that prevent them from being our top pick. One of the flaws of the Q5 is its navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's therefore prone to become stuck on shoes and socks and could not navigate densely packed rooms very well during our tests. It doesn't also have a camera that can see around corners.
Still, it's very good for those who want to save money on an Roomba from iRobot, and you have a mostly bare-floor home or office. Additionally, it's quiet and can be used while you're at work or school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does have a self-emptying dock, though. If you need to clean the mopping pad, it can be changed for one that is wet in just a few just a few seconds.

It also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is a feature we haven't seen on other robot vacuum/mop combination.
3. iRobot Roomba X40
This mop and vacuum combination features a sleek, circular design that appears more like a regular Roomba unit than the boxy models from the competition. It's among our most attractive robot vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is also among its most advanced. It comes with advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads autonomously).
It's also the only robot vacuum or mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is due to the combination of high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can fully self-refill and empty its base station, and it has an industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.
As with other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, with an easy mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only downside is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This could be a concern in the mornings before work or in the evening when you are trying to sleep.
It's also quite expensive, but it's not as expensive as Ecovacs X2 Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally powerful and better-looking. If you're willing to live with a little more noise and some extra cost it's a capable two-in-one that should satisfy most people.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with a lot of advanced features that will let you forget about your chores. Like Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that takes the care of mopping and vacuuming. It comes with a multi-function dock that automatically empty the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank, washes and dry the mop pads.
The smart robot uses the combination of LIDAR and structured light to map out the floor plan and detect obstacles, making it more efficient than some of its premium rivals. It also has a front-mounted camera for real-time hazard detection, although this wasn't quite foolproof in our testing and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.
Its vacuum has a suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also has a feature known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house based on how dirty those areas are.
For larger homes it's worth looking for one that has zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to tell the robot vacuums uk to clean a particular area of your home by using the app or voice commands. It's also self-sufficient with a fully-featured app, and a self-emptying, washable base.
The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through a mapping session that collects data about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. You can use it to make cleaning schedules, set up the perfect spot for cleaning or prioritize your most filthy rooms to improve performance. The app also grants access to many options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.
It can also reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It is equipped with an impressive 8000 Pascal suction as well as intelligent combs to remove pet hair. It also has the ability to set up a spot clean that thoroughly cleans a particular area.
