The Roborock Q7 Max offers strong pressure and smart mapping using app-based no-go zones, and its 180-minute runtime is impressive. It also automatically replenishes and self-empties its water tank.
1. iRobot Roomba j7+
The Roomba j7+, iRobot’s most advanced robot cleaner commercial to date is the Roomba J7+. Its most significant innovation is a camera-based obstacle detection system that utilizes built-in AI to detect objects like charging cords, shoes, and the dreaded pet waste that many other robots are unable to avoid (and often go through). It's the first robot to send you pictures of the objects that it encounters, meaning you can instruct the robot to avoid it.
The Combo J7+ is the best robot mop that we have ever tested. It cleans up dirt and spills effortlessly and leaves no trace of it was there. The iRobot application makes it simple to remote control vacuum cleaner. You can schedule cleanings and create Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't clean in areas you don’t would like. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start it and stop it with a voice.
Its design is also a step above the competition and features a sleek, top piece that appears more like a toy robotic rather than a loud, loud one. The Clean Base automatic floor cleaners (a cool way to improve) Dirt Disposal System is self-emptying and is ideal to speed up cleaning.
In our tests, the j7+ was quick to pick up and remove dust, dirt and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in one spot rather than sending it scattering across the floor. It was able to collect small gravel, sand and even a bit of grit. The majority of robots cannot do this. And it did all of this without getting caught in our pet's hair shed.
The j7+, although not as intelligent as the Roomba S9, which costs $1,217and Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and cannot clean the stairs, is still an excellent choice for those who require both mopping and vacuum. It's not too expensive and the iRobot App makes it easy to use.
The iRobot Home App is easy to use, however we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner applications. It can take a while to download updates, and it can be difficult to tell if they are working until you actually see them in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you're looking to purchase an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than just clean floors, your best choice is probably a hybrid. This category of bots typically includes a built-in water tank that allows them to mop and vacuum your home simultaneously. These bots also come with various additional features like smart mapping and small object avoidance and the possibility of washing and re-drying mopping pads. They're expensive at retail, but they often lower prices on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
Roborock is the manufacturer of several of our top robotic vacuums and the Q5+ does not fail to impress. It's the cheapest model of their auto-empty line. Although it might not have some of the more expensive features (like no-go zones and multi-story memories) but it's an excellent choice if you are willing to make some compromises to save a few dollars.
The Q5+ is noticeably gentle around obstacles like wall legs and table legs, which makes it a good choice for homes with lots of furniture. It is also very thorough in removing dust bunnies. This is a area where many robot vacuums that are less expensive fall short. The Q5+'s navigation system is also superb, with only a few mishaps along walls and in corners.
Like other Roborock devices as well, the Q5+ can be controlled with a handful of buttons on the device itself or via the Roborock app. The app lets you start and stop cleaning. You can also set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones, modify your home map or re-label rooms.
If you opt for the Q5+ model, it includes a new auto-emptying dock that's designed to make this robot hoover easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver but once it's installed emptying the bin can be done with relative ease. It also has a large LCD display that is great to have when you're setting up schedules or altering settings. This feature isn't essential for everyone, but it can help easily keep track of the robot's maintenance schedules.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a smart, well-rounded mop and vacuum. It's capable of mopping and vacuuming. Its design is among the best in the industry however it's quite expensive.
It's a small base station that looks stunning and is easily hidden when not in use. But the station's biggest selling factor is its ability to automate numerous tasks and functions that other robots leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water and electrolyze and heat the water. The majority of other robots require you to perform this.
Its vacuuming performance is also impressive. It's one of the few robot vacuums I've tested that does very well at cleaning up debris from bare floors, and it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.
But the Freo X Ultra has its faults, especially when it comes to navigation. Its LiDAR sensors and laser sensors aren't as reliable and reliable as other robovacs. This means that it could get stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms in the home. It also can't climb stairs as well as other models and doesn't come with a dock that can create a cleaning zone for carpets with plush padding.
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent choice for those who want an automated vacuum that can do it all.
But if you want to save some money or simply don't care about the limitations of this machine there are many other options available which include a variety of eufy models that cost considerably less. The Eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance is less expensive and provides a similar in-app experience with additional features such as the ability to climb stairs, a full-function dock, and better overall vacuuming performance on bare floors as well as high and low-pile carpets.
4. eufy RoboVac G30
Eufy, an Anker company is a long-standing leader of creating robot vacuums that strike the perfect balance between features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning on hard and carpet floors, as well as mopping capabilities at an affordable price. It's easy to setup simply by snapping one of the side brushes on, turn it on, and plug it into the charging dock. The app walks you through the steps needed to connect it to Wi-Fi and then the G30 is ready to go. You'll need to place the dock near an outlet for power and enough space for it to move around but.
The G30 is a small device that measures 2.85 inches in height, which means it can be placed under most couches and low-clearance pieces furniture. Its design is less ostentatious when compared to rival models. It features a sleek black finish with three buttons that are physical for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs a spot in a spiral pattern for two minutes), Recharge and Spot Cleaner. It is also possible to connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to perform cleaning that is not scheduled using voice commands.
The most important aspect that distinguishes the G30 apart from most competitors is the method it cleans. It uses an integrated map to make an image of the unmovable items in its path. It remembers the things it has cleaned and the areas it was unable to access. When it needs to recharge, it automatically returns to its starting point and begins cleaning from where it started.
The elegant G30 isn't without its faults, though. The iRobot Roomba is built better and has lower recurring costs. It charges faster, offers the same battery life and performs better on unfinished floors or low-pile carpet. It also has a larger dust bin that doesn't need to be empty as often and comes with the boundaries that restrict it from certain areas. The G30 is less expensive and easier to maintain. Its smaller container means it doesn't have to be emptied as often, and it has less difficulty with bulky items such as cereal.
