The Best Robot Hoover

The most effective robot hoover will mop and automatic vacuum and mop robot without needing your attention. It will leave your floors clean. Its low cost and features that are high-end (such as dirt detection) are pluses.

Be sure to regularly check your robot's brushes for hair tangled and large debris and clean them as needed. Certain models also automatically empty the onboard dustbin and deposit it in an additional bin located at the base. This reduces the amount fine dust released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive sibling the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we have tested. They are equipped with top-of-the-line motors which can generate up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. And, like other premium iRobot models (including the top-rated model) they employ smart mapping technology to create detailed floor plans that avoid household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. They also come with a feature called carpet boost that boosts the robot mop's performance when it detects an abundance of dirt on the carpet to get it clean quickly.

Both the Q5 as well as the Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our bare floor tests and are particularly effective in cleaning pet hair. They do have some flaws, however, that prevent them from being our first choice. One of the flaws of the Q5 is its navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's also prone to getting stuck on socks and shoes, and it couldn't navigate rooms with lots of people well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that can see around corners.

It's still a good deal, especially if your home or office has a lot of bare floors and you're looking to save some money. It's also very quiet and you can use it while you're at work or school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't stick well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with self-emptying docks, however. And, if you need to, you can switch the mopping pad to dry ones in a matter of just a few seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into a compact, sleek package. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it easy to clean and effective at tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also comes with a self-emptying bin as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robotic hoover for carpets but it isn't as effective as some of its competitors when it comes to deep cleaning.

This top-performing mop and vacuum combination makes use of advanced sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste and it also learns your home's layout over time for more efficient cleaning. You can modify its cleaning schedule and customize zones using the app that is well-designed. Its battery life is average in comparison to other models.

You can tell the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and extend them when it's in a room with carpet which prevents cross-contamination. Its flex arm is also perfect for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. However, it's not equipped with the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During testing, X30 Ultra was the most efficient robot vacuum/mop which could sweep the entire house and had 66 percent of its battery remaining. It did a great cleaning job on various rooms and floors with various flooring types including some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was top-notch and it swiftly eluded fake dog turds, socks, shoes and cables.

It's more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after it vacuums this feature, which hasn't been seen in other robot hoover and mop vacuum/mop combinations.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

The robot vacuum and mop combination is sleek and has a circular look that looks much like a Roomba model than the bulky models of the competition. It is one of our most attractive robot vacuums. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also the most intelligent. It features advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads on its own).

It's also the only robotic vacuum/mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is thanks to the combination of modern sensors, including a restructured light system, camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.

Like other iRobot models like the X40 is user-friendly, offering an easy mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only drawback is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This can be a concern in the mornings before work, or in the evening when you're trying to fall asleep.

It's also a bit expensive, although it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are equally capable and more attractive. If you're willing to live with a little more noise and some additional cost it's a capable two-in-one that should delight most.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range Robot vacuum Cleaners best vacuum and mop, with a lot of advanced features that let you get rid of your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine like Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum, refills the water tank, and cleans and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot vacuum that vacuums and mops employs the combination of LIDAR and structured light to create the floor plan and detect obstacles, navigating more intelligently than some of its premium rivals. It also comes with a front-mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time but this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and was often confused with power cords or obstructions.

Its vacuum has a high maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also comes with an option known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas in the house based on how dirty the areas are.

For bigger homes, it's worth opting for one with zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to tell the robot to clean one specific area of your home using the app or voice controls. If you have furniture, a stair mode is also useful. Finally a recharge and resume function that allows your robot vacuum to pick up right where it left off is ideal for busy families.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is more intelligent than its price suggests. It is a great job cleaning, removing 55% of debris in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using only one pad and a reciprocating movement which is cleaner than the majority mop cleaners for robots that we've examined. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a full-featured app and a self-emptying base that can be washed.

The well-designed iRobot application guides you through an initial mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you set on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, arrange a spot clean or to prioritize your most filthy rooms to improve performance. The app also grants access to a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

It is also able to reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It is equipped with a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction, as well as sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. You can also create a spot-cleaner that thoroughly cleans the area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and cheaper alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras resemble cute eyes. It is great at vacuuming, but it is more likely to get stuck on low thresholds. It also has a higher noise than other top robot vacuums that we have examined. It also comes with an app that is less intuitive and has a tiny base station that doesn't double as a bin for emptying.
