The Best robot vacuum cleaner UK robot vacuum that vacuums and mops Hoover

The Best robot vacuum cleaner UK robot vacuum will sweep and autonomous vacuum your floors without your involvement. It will also leave them spotless. Its surprisingly affordable price and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detection) are pluses.

Examine your robot's brush regularly for tangled debris as well as hair. Wash them if needed. Some models can also automatically empty their onboard dustbin into a larger bin in the base, which decreases the amount of fine dust released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive sibling, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we have examined. They are equipped with motors that are top of the quality and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other premium iRobots (including the most powerful model) they utilize smart mapping to create detailed floorplans and avoid household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. The robots also feature a feature called Carpet Boost that increases its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests of floors with no carpet, and they are particularly adept in cleaning dog hair. However, they have several flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. One of the Q5's shortcomings is that its navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's therefore prone to become stuck on shoes and socks, and it couldn't navigate densely packed rooms very well in our tests. Also, it doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of the room.

It's still a good value particularly if your home or office has a lot of bare floors and you're looking to save money. Plus, it's very quiet and you can use it while you're at work or going to school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. And it's less effective at mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle, however. And, if you need to, you can switch the mopping pad for dry ones in a matter of just a few seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into a compact, sleek package. Its smart cleaning maps and fluid navigation make it simple to clean, and effective in tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also has self-emptying dustbins as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, though it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.

This highly efficient mop and vacuum combo utilizes advanced sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste and it learns your home's layout over time to provide more efficient cleaning. The app lets you set up zones and modify the cleaning schedule. It has a battery life that is similar to other models.

You can instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mop and extend them when in a carpeted room which prevents cross-contamination. Its flex arm is also great for getting under furniture that is low and along baseboards. However, it's not equipped with the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During testing, X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to complete the task of cleaning a whole home with just 66 percent of its battery remaining. It also did an excellent job cleaning a range of floors and rooms that had different flooring types, including some area carpets. Its obstacle detection was top-notch and it swiftly eluded fake dog socks, turds, and bundles of cables.

It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is something we haven't seen before on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

With a sleek, circular design that looks more like a normal Roomba rather than the boxy units This robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive looking models in our tests. The latest model from iRobot is also among its most advanced. It features advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).

It's also the sole robot vacuum/mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is thanks to a combination modern sensors, including a restructured light system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that is fully autonomously refill and empty its base station, and it boasts the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.

As with other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, offering an intuitive mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only issue is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This can be a problem in mornings before work, or at night when you're trying to sleep.

It's also a bit expensive but not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally impressive and attractive. If you're willing to live some more volume and some extra cost this is a powerful two-in-one that will delight most.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop (writes in the official Moparwiki blog), with a variety of sophisticated features that will let you get rid of your chores. Similar to Ecovacs range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that can take the care of vacuuming and mopping, with a multi-function dock that automatically empties the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank and washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of a combination of LIDAR and structured light to map out floor plans and identify obstacles, navigating more intelligently than its top rivals. It also comes with a front-mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time however this was not 100% reliable in our tests and could be confused with obstructions or power cords.

The vacuum cleaner comes with the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the amount of time the vacuum works and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of your home in accordance with how dirty they are.

For larger homes, it's worth opting for one with zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot to clean a particular area of your house by using the app or voice commands. A stair mode can be beneficial if you have lot furniture. For families with busy schedules recharge functions and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to continue from where it left off could be very beneficial.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you'd imagine from its price. It's a pro at cleaning, removing 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using one pad and a reciprocating motion that is more efficient than most of the robot mop cleaners that we've tried. It's also self-sufficient with a full-featured app and a self-emptying base that is washable.

The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through an initial mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, or to create the spot-cleaning. You can also use it to rank your most filthy areas for greater efficiency. The app comes with a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

It is also able to reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It also has a powerful suction of 8,000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs for pet hair. You can also create a spot-cleaner which will thoroughly clean the area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker more affordable alternative to iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive design, akin to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed to resemble cute eyes. It does a great job vacuuming, but it's more likely to be caught on low thresholds. It is also noisier than other top robot vacuums that we've tested. It also comes with an app that is less intuitive, and a smaller base station that can't double as a bin for emptying.
