The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests of floors with no carpet, and they are particularly adept in cleaning hair from dogs. However, they do have a few flaws however, which hinder them from being our first option. One of the Q5's shortcomings is that its navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's therefore prone to get stuck on socks and shoes and could not navigate through rooms with a lot of people well during our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that can see around corners.

It's still a good value particularly if your office or home has lots of unfinished floors and you want to save money. Plus, it's very quiet and you can use it when you're at work or at school. The only thing it doesn't have that you can't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective at mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with an auto-emptying dock, however. If you need to clean the mopping pad, it can be swapped for a wet one in just a few seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that can also mop floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps as well as quick navigation make it easy to clean, and effective in tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also has an impressive suction system and a self-emptying bin. It's the most efficient robotic hoover for carpets, but it isn't as effective as some of its competitors when it comes to deep cleaning.

This highly efficient combination vacuum and mop uses advanced sensor technology to avoid obstacles and pet waste and it learns your home's layout over time for more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to set up zones and modify the cleaning schedule. It has a battery life that is comparable to other models.

It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is something we haven't seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

With a sleek, circular design that looks like a regular Roomba than the competition's boxes This mop and robot vacuum is one of the most attractive designs in our tests. iRobot's latest flagship model also happens to be its smartest and has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's also the only robotic vacuum/mop to score the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our tests. This is thanks to a combination high-tech sensors including a structured light system, camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can completely autonomously refill and empty its base station and it boasts its own self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40, like other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It has a simple mobile app interface that is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only real drawback is that it's still quite a noisy unit that could be problematic if you run it in the morning before work or at night as you try to sleep.

It's also somewhat expensive, but it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally capable and look better. This is a dual-purpose vacuum mop cleaner robot that is very efficient however, it will cost you more and make more noise.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum cleaners best vacuum and mop with many advanced features that let you forget about your chores. Similar to Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes the care of vacuuming and mopping, with a multi-function dock that automatically empties the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank and washes and dries its mop pads.

The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floorplans and identify obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its premium competitors. It also has a front-mounted camera to detect hazards in real-time but this was not foolproof in our testing and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum cleaner comes with an maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to do the job. It also has an attribute known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas in the house based on how dirty these areas are.

The RX3 is more advanced than its price would suggest. It is a good vacuum cleaner and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with a single pad and a reciprocating motion that cleans better that most mop cleaners for robots that we've examined. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app, and a self emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot app guides you through an initial mapping session that collects data about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules, or to set up an automatic spot-clean. You can also use it to rank your most filthy areas for better performance. The app also gives access to a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, meaning it can reach corners and underneath furniture better. It also has a strong 8,000 Pascal suction and combs with intelligent technology for hair of pets. You can also organize a spot-cleaner that will thoroughly clean the area.
