WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases item level by +3. A random extra substat is also increased with each upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less valuable for those with lower requirements due to the need to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader enables players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities and can be visited at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader once every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up to date.

Upgrades can cost more based on the level of the Item Level upgrade, however they'll always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment. For example, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items which can be used to upgrade items weapons tools, armor, and accessories. Players can purchase them from item upgraders NPCs in a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be used on any weapon or tool using an button, which will show an item's preview when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the item and the current item level as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers for example. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level it is able to be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currency types.

Item upgraders can be found in a variety of locations including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and a chance to acquire a new upgrade item recipe. The discount for upgrading increases as more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only available through a variety of methods. This is both a benefit as well as a disadvantage.

In Season 3, the upgrade system has been tweaked a bit, with several new features added. Once the player has upgraded to a certain item level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level will cost less. This applies even if those items come from another set of gear.

The discount applies to all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players reach certain milestones in their achievement.

Crests

Players have several options for upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more special and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an important element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

First, you should know that crests are only available for equipment of a certain rank. Each rank has a different upgrade path. The most basic and straightforward upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the most complex requires as many as 20 crests depending on the kind of gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through completing tasks at the appropriate level. This could be done by engaging in outdoor activities or doing dungeons or raids in all difficulty levels to obtain lower-level gear or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons that have a high difficulty for endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an upgrader for the item such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade item steps and routes.

Using these new currencies isn't that difficult however, the system introduces some changes to the overall upgrade process. When a piece of equipment attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it no longer requires Flightstones. This change is intended to allow players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl for all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests with care, since they are only used for one purpose. For instance, it's best to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the top equipment you have and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you plan to create. This is particularly relevant for items like trinkets and rings that take up multiple slots. The discount for the entire account will only be applicable if all slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
