Path of Exile Item Upgrading

In Path of Exile, item upgrading is one of the Best item upgrade ways to upgrade your gear without relying on big-ticket drops or trade. This article will teach you how to upgrade your gear.

Upgrades to equipment give an increase in the item's stats. This bonus scales with the upgrade component level and rarity.

Components

Upgrade components are the items that improve your armor and weapons more effective. They can be obtained by the destruction of enemies, finding them in spheres of items or purchasing them from karma sellers. They can also be rescued from equipment that has them, or by utilizing an advanced salvage kit like the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. Contrary to other products upgrades aren't destroyed when removed from an item.

Upgrade components are typically used to improve an item however, they can also be used for other reasons. They can be stacked to increase the level of an upgradeable item, or they can be used to enhance the experience gained by upgrading an existing weapon or piece of equipment. They can be made for additional bonuses. A glyph that is crafted can boost the chances of upgrading its target, while a boost upgrade increases the attack or defense attributes of the weapon.

Selecting an upgrade template in the GUI will allow you to connect it to an item. This will display a list of upgrade components that the item can be upgraded to. Alternatively, you can use the workbench to select an upgrade template. In either case, an item will be upgraded when enough upgrade components have been gathered.

Each component has a distinct experience multiplier, which determines how much more experience an item will gain when it is upgraded with the component. For instance, organic components give an experience multiplier that is higher than mechanical ones. It is recommended to upgrade organic components first until you reach the next rank in the weapon or equipment, then switch to mechanical upgrades.

In addition to the multiplier for experience every item also has a maximum number of upgrades it can receive. The number of items that can be upgraded is determined by their upgradeable rank, and the type of upgrade they can get. The highest upgrade possible is a weapon of 10th level. However, the most popular Upgrade Item for weapons is the tier 6 weapon and an armor upgrade of tier 5.

Sets

A set is a collection of objects which all have the same bonus. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least one time, and the upgrade will increase its guaranteed bonuses. When you first upgrade a set piece or weapon, it will receive a +1 increase to its primary stat. After subsequent upgrades, the primary stats will be boosted even further (for instance +1 for 12+/13+/14+) and every time an item is upgraded, one of its additional stats is increased randomly.

Upgrading a weapon can also increase the damage base, which could be crucial for certain builds. However, weapons cannot be upgraded to have a greater maximum defense roll than their normal base. It's possible to increase the value of specific sets and unique items by upgrading them, but they're not always superior to a higher-level Runeword.

If you are upgrading an item that has an added bonus the item can be rerolled once and the guarantee will reset back to zero. The same amount of power die is used to roll an item as it would be used to level it up. However, the new item has different bonuses. Upgrades can be made at the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you'll require a power die of each type (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; dice 7 drops from bosses) and the proper amount of Minerals and Erons. These are available at the crafting table or in the Ultra Collector and can be purchased using Gold. The NPCs will also offer special rewards for each completed level of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled once and will be made using the same materials used in the original item.

Rerolling

A player can reroll any item acquired during the game, provided they have enough tokens to be able to do so. When an item is rerolled it will be replaced by an equivalent level 1 version from another set. Reroll tokens can be purchased at the store for a small amount of in-game currency. They are non-refundable. The new item upgraded will still have the extra bonuses of the original one however its stats will be different as well.

Players can change the identification of their equipment, in addition to changing it's roll by interfacing with an upgrader NPC. This will change the identification from an armored weapon to a weapon, or vice versa, all the while retaining its base stats and the attributes it requires. The change is permanent and will affect all characters who own the gear in question.

Players can also boost the item level of any equipped equipment by acquiring upgrade items and conversing with the upgrader NPC of the item. It will cost a specific number of crests and Valorstones according to the upgrade track and the item kind. Each step will give an additional 5% of damage to weapons.

Upgrades can boost the effectiveness of an item, however they also decrease its quality. Therefore, it is important to find a balance between these two. Some items aren't worth upgrading, while other items require upgrading to maximize their potential. For instance one player might decide to upgrade a piece breakpoint armor with an interesting modifier (% chance to block or FHR) to see what it can be.

The primary reason why people play rerolls in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game, is that they're trying to acquire a certain weapon or character that they wouldn't otherwise be able to acquire. Getting these items can be costly and time-consuming and the RNG gods do not always want to play ball. The only other options are to spend money or grind a lot. Rerolling is a very popular choice in Genshin Impact.

Leveling

When upgrading an item, you can choose to increase the level of the weapon or armor. But, this feature does absolutely nothing in the current game. I think this feature was designed to give value to rare and expensive items. However, since the majority of equipment is replaced quickly and can only be upgraded by one level, you'll generally replace it before it becomes too old. It's not worth it to upgrade items with gem sockets because the power of the gem will outweigh the increase in ilvl with the upgrade.

You will see a small box when you click the upgrade option on an item. It will show the template of the item, the Crest, as well as the cost for Valorstone to raise the item's level. The costs will vary between the armor and weapons as well, with the former typically costing more than the latter. The upgrade template outlines the statistics that will be added to the upgraded item. It also lists its current ilvl.

The cost of the Valorstone and Crest is calculated using the current Ilvl of the item and the upgrade templates. The ilvl is also decreased by the upgrade templates reduction percentage for lvl. For instance the weapon that has an 8% upgrade decrease will decrease its value by 8-8%.

The item upgrader kit will receive upgrades to other stats like critical strike damage, PvE damage and block, parry and dodge rating in addition to the base level. These increases are based on the upgrade template.

The amount of damage and defense that the item receives when it is leveled can be seen below the upgrade cost and decrease percentages in the upgrade template window. In addition to equipment for practice, all items and armor get the same stats once leveled up. The market will determine the value of these stats. A weapon or armor with perfect rolls can command an incredibly higher price than an unupp'd version. This is also true for other pieces of armor like circlets and Tiaras.
