1. Roomba Q5 pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive cousin the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums that we have examined. They have top-of-the-line motors that can pull up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other premium iRobots (including the most powerful model) they utilize intelligent mapping to design precise floorplans that avoid obstacles like cords and furniture leg. They also have carpet boost, a feature which boosts the robot's power when it sees an abundance of dirt on the carpet in order to get it cleaned quickly.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests on floors that were bare and are especially adept in removing hair from dogs. There are some issues however, which hinder them from being our first choice. For one, the Q5's navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance which means it's susceptible to become entangled in shoes and socks and can't navigate tightly packed rooms very efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't have an image sensor that lets it see the corners of the room.
Still, it's very good, especially if you want to save money on a Roomba from iRobot, and you have a bare-floored home or office. It's also extremely quiet and operates while you're at work or school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30.
