Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player increases the chance of finding items, the properties that are generated by loot, and the strength of these properties. It gives players a chance to upgrade their equipment in earlier waves and is thus more beneficial in the early game as opposed to later ones, as most players prioritize higher weapon scaling and defenses over the raw damage gain.

Luck can also increase the chances of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade probability which increases with each level and can be further increased through the use of an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

The shields, armor and weapons have the default Luck value of 40. These items can be improved with golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the material they are made of) to add another 40 luck or to boost the Luck of an item up to 140.

Additionally there are certain items, such as the Hollow infused weapon, can be equipped to increase the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5%. These items can be bought at the store or made using the correct ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items can be expensive and not every upgrade will be successful. Cash shop items can be used to boost the success rate of an upgrade, or to protect players from losing their item if it fails.

The rate of success of an upgrade is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the probability of successfully upgrading the item, and it can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The probability of success can only be increased so much, and the likelihood that an upgrade will fail can't be greater than 100%..

The luck of an item can influence the effectiveness of an upgrade. Each item has a success rate of 25 percent, and every item upgrading with Luck increases this chance by five percent.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the inventory items, so enchantment glint and other effects can be obscured by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
