WoW Upgrades - The item upgrader kit Upgrader

Upgrades give you boost in specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item by +3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.

The upgraded gear is usually more useful, unless the Best item upgrade is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item Level upgrade upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and can't be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks.

The cost of upgrading will depend on the current level of the equipment being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than buying new equipment from other sources. For example upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items which can be used to level up weapons and tools, armor and other items. They can be purchased by players from item upgraders NPCs in a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor. The button will display the preview of an item's next level of upgrade, if there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot for the item and the current item level. For instance weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of Flightstones or crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree, it can be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currency types.

Upgraders for items are available in many places on the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon as well as the chance to obtain an entirely new recipe. The discount on upgrades increases with the number of items being upgraded. It is also possible to be increased by having players complete some specific achievements or complete quests.

Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no item upgrader available at the beginning of Icewind Dale. The NPCs that can assist with upgrades are available only through a variety of methods. This is both a benefit as well as a disadvantage.

In Season 3 the upgrade system was altered a bit, with several new features added. Once the player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same level, will cost less. This applies even if the items come from another set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones needed to upgrade is reduced and the discount is account-wide. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players reach certain achievement milestones.

Crests

When upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a few options. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more special, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that crests are only available for equipment that is of a particular rank. Each rank has a different upgrade path. The simplest and simplest upgrade route costs 15 crests while the most complex can require as much as 20 crests, based on the kind of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by completing tasks at the appropriate level. This could be by engaging in outdoor activities or taking on dungeons and raids of all difficulties to get equipment of lower tier or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons with heroic difficulty for gear in the endgame. Crests can be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken, for the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.

The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, but it brings some modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This change is intended to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters, rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests with care, since they have only one purpose. For instance, it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests with the Best item upgrade equipment available and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you plan to create. This is particularly true for items such as trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The discount on the account will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
