This Story Behind Best Robot Vacuum That Mops Can Haunt You Forever
The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He evaluates and tests cleaning equipment, with a focus on robot vacuums and mopping combos. Multitaskers can be a great option for those looking to remove mopping from their list of tasks. They feature impressive mapping and obstacles-avoiding capabilities, and they can even wash and refill their own mopping pads to give themselves a hands-off clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
If you're looking for a robotic vacuum that can also mop, this is the model to look for. It's smaller than the other options on this list which makes it easier to maneuver in tight corners and under furniture. It has a 220 degree Lidar which, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, offers some of the best navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in a robotic vacuum. It packs a powerful 4600mAh battery which lasts up to 170-minutes when mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can run longer in turbo). It can even return to the dock to top up its battery halfway through a clean.
It's efficient and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It can vacuum carpeted rooms fast, and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen, and hallways with just one sweep. Its suction motor of 8,000pa makes short work of picking up dirt, droppings and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it encounters rugs and the dual side brushes help pull out dirt from corners.
The mopping efficiency, while still impressive, is not as impressive. The mop's rotating mechanism spins fast and uses 2.2lbs to clean dirt and stain. I've also noticed that the front arms stick out a bit more than other robots, which is helpful to maneuver around tight corners and along baseboards. The front arms can also be used to scoop up larger pieces of debris, such as books and toys that have been damaged.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tested. It is quieter and doesn't make more noise when mopping or vacuuming. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it has to use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It's easy to install and is effective however this is something that you'll have to keep an eye on in case you're purchasing this vacuum for the sole reason of mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It comes with a wide array of features that make it a great choice for homeowners who want an efficient, flexible and adaptable cleaning machine.
The device is equipped with a powerful cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This allows it to map out your home and detect furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean efficiently and effectively. This will result in an effective, consistent cleaning that is also quite fast.
The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach a variety of surfaces. These include corners or baseboards, as well as other hard-to-reach spots. They also have a stretchy side brush that can be extended to reach the floor near walls and other fixtures. The mop pads can also be washable and can be dried to eliminate odors and stop buildup.
Another notable feature is the customization options that are available through apps. The Q Revo lets you adjust the suction intensity and choose an back-and-forth or random pattern. You can also choose the number of passes which will determine the speed at which it can move around your home. You can also choose to turn off the side brush to prevent damaging rugs and carpets.
The device is costly, but it comes with a lot of smart features. It's crucial to keep in mind that it has regular costs, such as mopping supplies and maintenance. For instance brushrolls need to be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pads should be changed every one to three month.
This robotic vacuum cleaner has an excellent Amazon rating and includes an array of physical automation features. The vacuum also has an energy button that doubles as the 'Clean button' and a Home button that allows it to go home after cleaning. It also has a multifunctional dock that automatically empty the trash bin and refills its water tank to mop and washes and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be a good choice for busy professionals or anyone looking to keep their home clean without spending too much time on chores. Its powerful performance, smart navigation and long battery life allow you to maintain a clean house with little effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot cleaner with mop vacuum and mop; Goformore official website,, which means it can handle both vacuuming and mopping. The robot has two modules: a dry bin and water reservoir and a separate mopping system with a microfiber pad that snaps into and out of the way. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping, but it does mean you don't need to worry about changing the bags for disposables or refilling the tank with water.
Our testers discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming as well as mopping. Its most impressive feature was its precise floorplan that it uses to determine a route when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate easily between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' as well as virtual barriers to stop certain areas from being cleaned by mopping.
We also found that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well at picking up hair from pets. It was able to capture some of the hair our cats shed, and even made it into the nooks and crannies of our stairs where other robots had struggled. The noise levels of the robot were low and there were nice jingles to let you know that it was starting and finishing its work.
Its main drawbacks were its simple app and the need to swap out the modules when switching between vacuuming and mopping. The app isn't able to store multiple maps, which could be a hassle if you have a home with a mix of floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those looking for a smart robot vacuum cleaners best that can perform both vacuuming and mopping.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that can be found in our review, but it comes with some unique features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its enormous dock, which serves as the robot's charging base and the housing for two water tanks, a sink for cleaning, and the 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically emptys.
The base also has a variety of control buttons that allow you to manually start a cleaning task and then recall the robot or run the dock's auto-emptying process. Press two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a nice feature for parents who are worried about their children playing with the vacuum.
Like other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni uses its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni can occasionally get caught up in an obstacle--such as the power cord that is draped across a rug that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you remove it manually. While this was rare however, it was a gruelling experience when it happened, especially since the X1 Omni does not have an "stuck" status alert in its app.
The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch from mopping mode to vacuuming mode during cleaning. You will need to manually swap between the two modes, which isn't a big deal except for the fact that the mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between use and can cause mildew or mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed its sleek modern base and mopping pad. It's a huge contrast to the basic black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. And it's an excellent choice for a market dominated by clunky boxy units.
