The best robotic mop and vacuum robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention, and it will leave your floors clean. Its surprisingly affordable price and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detection) are a plus.

Be sure to examine the brushes of your robot for hair that is tangled as well as large debris and clean them as needed. Certain models also automatically empty the dust bin on board and then deposit it in an additional bin at the base. This helps reduce the amount of fine dust released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive sibling, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we've examined. They feature top-of-the-line motors that can generate up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. And, like other top iRobot models (including the top choice) they employ smart mapping technology to create precise floor plans and eliminate household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. They also feature carpet boost, a feature that increases the robot's power when it detects a lot of dirt on the carpet, allowing it cleaned up quickly.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests on bare floors and are especially adept in removing dog hair. However, they do have several flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. For one, the Q5's navigation doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it's prone to get caught up in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tight spaces very efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera to look around corners.

It's still a great option to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on a Roomba from iRobot, and you have a bare-floored home or office. It's also very quiet and can be used while you are at work or at school. The only thing it's missing that you won't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It's also less effective in mopping, using disposable wet wipes that don't hold on well and aren't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle however. If you want to change the mopping pad for a dry one in seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to sweep floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps and quick navigation make it easy to clean, and effective in tackling larger particles, like pet hair. It also comes with a self-emptying dustbin, powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robotic hoover for carpets but it isn't as effective as some of its competitors in terms of deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mops utilizes sensor technology that can keep away from obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the structure of your home over time to ensure cleaner and more efficient cleaning. You can change the schedule of cleaning and even customize zones using the app that is well-designed. Its battery life is average when compared to similar models.

When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to take off and extend its mops. This can help avoid cross contamination. Its flex arm can also be utilized to reach under furniture that is low and along baseboards. However, it doesn't have the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Professional+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

In the course of testing, X30 Ultra was the quickest robot vacuum/mop that could sweep the entire house, with 66 per cent of its battery remaining. It did a great cleaning job on various floors and rooms with different kinds of flooring, including certain area rugs. Its obstacle detection was superb and it was able to avoid fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles of cables.

It's a little more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it has vacuumed. This is something we haven't seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combinations.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

With a sleek circular design that appears like a regular Roomba rather than the boxy units This mop and robot vacuum is one of the most attractive designs in our reviews. The latest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest, with advanced features including enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's also the sole robot vacuum/mop to score a perfect 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is thanks to a combination high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot hoover and mop in our tests that can completely autonomously refill and empty its base station, and it boasts industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.

Like other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, with an easy mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only issue is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This can be a problem in the mornings before work or in the evening when you're trying to fall asleep.

It's also quite expensive but not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally capable and better looking. If you're willing to put up some more volume and a little more cost, this is a very capable two-in-one that should please almost everyone.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with many advanced features that will let you get rid of your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner like Ecovacs the top of the line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum, refills the water tank, as well as washes and drys the mop pads.

The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to create floorplans and identify obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its top competitors. It also has a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards however, it wasn't reliable in our tests and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum cleaner comes with a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to do the job. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the amount of time the vac works and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house in accordance with the degree of dirt they are.

If you have a bigger home, it is worth selecting a model with a spot or zone cleaning mode. This allows you to instruct the robot on which part of your house needs to be cleaned using the app or voice control. A stairway mode is beneficial if you have large furniture. For busy families, a recharge function and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to continue from where it left off could be very beneficial.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you would expect from its price tag. It does a stellar job vacuuming, picking up 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with a single pad and a reciprocating motion which is cleaner than the majority of the mop cleaners with robots that we've tried. It's self-sufficient too, with a full-featured application and a self-emptying, washable base.

The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate an exercise in mapping, which gathers information on your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. It can be used to make cleaning schedules, set up the perfect spot for cleaning or sort out your rooms with the most dirt to improve performance. The app also gives access to a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

It is also able to reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It is equipped with an impressive 8000 Pascal suction as well as clever combs for removing pet hair. And you can create a spot-clean that scours a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and more affordable alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It is more appealing in its design, similar to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed like cute little eyes. It does a great job vacuuming, but it's more likely to be caught on low thresholds. It is also noisier than other top good robot vacuum vacuums that we have tested. It also has a less user-friendly app and a tiny base station that isn't able to double as a bin for emptying.
