The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He evaluates and tests cleaning appliances. His main focus is mopping robots and vacuum combinations. These multitaskers are an excellent option for those looking to take mopping off their to-do list. They are equipped with impressive mapping capabilities and obstacle avoidance capabilities, and some wash and refill their own mopping pads for a hands-off clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
If you're looking for a robotic vacuum that also mops then this is the model to go for. It's smaller than other options, making it more maneuverable in tight corners or under furniture. It comes with a 220 degree Lidar that, combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, offers one of my top navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in a robotic cleaner and mop vacuum. It has a 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170 minutes if mopping and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). It will even return to the dock to top up its battery part way through a clean.
It's extremely efficient and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It is able to vacuum carpeted rooms quickly, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room and hallways with only one motion. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to clean dirt as well as pet hair and poop easily. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects rugs and the dual side brushes help to clean debris from corners.
The mopping efficiency, while still impressive, isn't as impressive. The rotating mop spins at a high velocity and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scrubbing up dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arm extends out a little more than other robots. This is helpful when getting into narrow corners or on baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to scoop up larger objects like books and broken toys.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've used. It is quieter and doesn't make as much noise when mopping or vacuuming. The only downside is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform mopping, and is separate from the vacuum. It's simple to install and is effective, but this is something you'll need to be aware of in case you're purchasing this vacuum for the sole purpose of it mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is different from other best robot cleaner vacuums in its class. It is a powerful machine for cleaning with a range of features.
The device comes with a powerful cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This allows it to map out your home and also identify furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean effectively and efficiently. This will result in an effective, consistent cleaning that's also fairly fast.
In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can be used to reach many different surfaces. They can reach corners and baseboards as well as other hard-to-reach areas. They also have a stretchy side brush that extends to reach the floor close to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are washable and dry to remove odors and prevent buildup.
Another feature worth mentioning is the app-based customization options. The Q Revo lets you alter the suction strength and select an back-and-forth or random pattern. You can also adjust the number of passes it should make, which will determine the speed at which the device can move around your home. You can also disable the side brush in order to protect your carpets from damage. rugs.
This device is expensive but has many smart features. However, it's important to remember that it carries regular expenses in the form of mopping supplies and maintenance. For example the brushroll needs to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter is recommended to be cleaned after 150 hrs, and the mop pads should be changed every three months.
This robotic vacuum cleaner has an excellent rating on Amazon and comes with a wide variety of physical automation features. These include the power button that can also function as a general 'Clean button, as well as a 'Home' button that will send it back to its base station after completing its cleaning task. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically emptys the dustbin, refills its water tank for mopping and washes and dries its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be a good option for busy professionals or anyone who wants to keep their home neat without spending too much time on chores. Its powerful performance, smart navigation and long battery life make it simple to keep a clean home with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 best rated robot vacuum vacuum and mop which means it can handle both vacuuming and mopping. The robot is divided into two components which include a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped in and out and a mopping unit that has microfiber pads. Separate modules for mopping and vacuuming may appear a bit dated however, they mean that you don't need to worry about changing bags for disposables or refilling the water tank.
Our test subjects discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming as well as mopping. Its greatest feature was its accurate map of your floorplan which it uses to determine an outline for cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate effortlessly between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app also gives you the option to set "No-Go zones" as well as virtual barriers that help to keep specific areas of your home from being swept with mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a remarkable job at collecting pet hair. It was able capture a large amount of hair that our cats shed, and even found its way into the nooks and crannys of our stairs, where other robots struggled. The noise levels of the robot were low and there were nice jingles to signal that it was beginning and finishing its work.
Its biggest drawbacks were its simplistic app and the need to change between the modules to switch between mopping and vacuuming. The app cannot save multiple maps. This could be a problem if your home has multiple floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those looking for a smart robot that can do both vacuuming and mopping.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive of our review. However, it does have distinct features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni's biggest draw is its huge dock which doubles as a charging base and housing for two water tanks, a clean sink, and an automatic 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically emptys.
The base has a couple of buttons for control that allow you to manually start cleaning tasks, recall the robot or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to toggle a child lock, which is a nice touch for parents worried about kids tinkering with the vacuum.
Similar to other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni utilizes its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path and avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system can map your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more accurate at recognizing objects.
Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni can occasionally become so entangled with an obstacle--such as the power cord that is draped across a rug--that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you manually free it. This was a rare incident, but frustrating nonetheless, since the X1 does not have a "stuck status" alert in its application.
Another potential downside is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between vacuuming and mopping modes during the cleaning process. You will need to manually switch between the two, which isn't too bad aside from the fact that the mopping pads aren't cleaned and dried between uses and can cause mildew or mold.
On the positive side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot cleaner with mop thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its modern, sleek base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a big contrast to the utilitarian, all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing sight in a space which is dominated by clunky boxes and clunky models.
