Purpose of Accounts

Accounts on CEO.wiki are provided to enable genuine contributors to:

  • Create and improve articles about chief executive officers and business leaders
  • Participate in community discussions
  • Upload relevant media files
  • Help maintain the quality and accuracy of our content

Account Requirements

All accounts must be:

  • Human-operated — Automated accounts, bots, or scripts are not permitted without explicit administrator approval
  • Used for contribution — Accounts should actively contribute to the wiki's mission
  • Compliant with policies — Users must follow all CEO.wiki policies and guidelines

Prohibited Account Activities

The following activities will result in account removal:

Spam

  • Adding promotional content, advertisements, or irrelevant external links
  • Creating pages for non-notable individuals for promotional purposes
  • Mass messaging or solicitation

Bot/Automated Activity

  • Using automated tools to create or edit content without approval
  • Registering accounts through automated means
  • Any scripted behavior that bypasses human verification

Vandalism

  • Deliberately adding false or misleading information
  • Removing valid content without justification
  • Defacing pages or disrupting the wiki

Account Aging/Squatting

  • Registering accounts with no intention to contribute
  • Reserving usernames for future sale or transfer
  • Creating multiple accounts without legitimate purpose

Inactivity

  • Accounts with zero contributions may be removed during periodic cleanups
  • Accounts that have never been used after a reasonable period will be considered abandoned

Periodic Account Reviews

CEO.wiki administrators conduct periodic reviews of user accounts to maintain wiki integrity:

  • Accounts showing signs of automated/bot creation will be investigated
  • Zero-contribution accounts may be removed without notice
  • Suspicious registration patterns (bulk registrations, disposable emails) will be flagged
  • Accounts failing human verification checks will be deleted

Human Verification

We employ multiple methods to verify accounts are human-operated:

  • CAPTCHA verification during registration
  • Email confirmation requirements
  • Behavioral analysis of account activity
  • Manual review of suspicious accounts

Accounts that cannot be verified as human-created will be removed.
